Back Home

We returned home on Saturday. It was bittersweet: bitter for Wendell, sweet for Kenton, and both for me. I’ve been working through all of the photos and thought I would share a few more. We journeyed 6000 miles, hitting 12 gorgeous rivers and one lake. Now we’re on to editing all of the footage for our film. Check back for our short teaser next!

Stream Chasin’

After leaving Missoula, we journeyed down to Cody, Wyoming and spent the night there before fishing the Wood River. It was a small rapid river with hungry fish in every pocket of water. The next day we entered into Yellowstone National Park. It was crowded with tourists, but we once we got off the beaten path the people disappeared. We fished Hellroaring Creek and the Yellowstone River where the fish were excited for flies once again. The tourists scared us out of Yellowstone and we found refuge in Idaho, where we drove aimlessly until finding the beautiful Warm River. We hiked down into the canyon and found crazy jumping Rainbows and fat Browns. The water color and scenery of the stream made it feel like we were in New Zealand. After having our fill of Idaho trout and scenery, we jumped back into Wyoming near Jackson. We woke to an amazing view of the Grand Tetons and later fished the Gros Ventre river nearby.
